It started with a hotel
that smelled of nothing.
A small London atelier. Two founders, two more in the studio,
and every commission handled by the people you first spoke to.
The place
came first.
A small hotel had got everything right, the linen, the timber, the light in the hall, and it smelled of nothing at all.
That was the job that brought perfumer Élise Moreau and producer Rowan Hale together in 2021. The owners wanted something guests would remember. The answer wasn't a stronger scent. It was one that smelled like the building.
Erosia is now four people in London, making fragrances for independent hotels, home collections and a small number of personal scents. Élise and Rowan are on every commission from the first reference to the last sample.

How a
commission goes.
Observe the world
We start with the place and the people in it. Send us a photograph, a piece of the timber, a description of walking in from the rain. That tells us more than a list of ingredients would.
Compose a direction
You get three samples, each with a name and a sentence about what it's trying to do. You tell us which one feels right and what's wrong with it. That's the useful part.
Evaluate its use
A candle, a perfume and a hotel entrance ask different questions. We evaluate the chosen direction in the intended application and agree the next step with the relevant production partner.

We lead the brief, fragrance direction, refinement and evaluation. Specialist partners handle agreed compounding, product testing, filling or scent-system installation.
You’ll know who is responsible for each part before work starts. Development fees, supply arrangements, exclusivity and formula rights are written into the commission.
